We are excited to announce two very special events that we will run consecutively on Sunday 16th November at the pub:
Briefing for prospective new shareholders | 1600-1700hrs
Since our successful opening in 2018 – which produced a UK-record breaking number of shareholders into a community pub – we are now excited to announce that there is an opportunity for new shareholders to join the club!
If you are new to the area and/or just a long-term friend who felt they missed out first time round, please come along to this briefing to hear about the opportunity.
During this session, the Packhorse (volunteer) director team will:
- Recap the original, inspiring story behind ‘Save The Packhorse’
- Describe the new shareholder offer (entry: £500)
- Outline the benefits of becoming a shareholder – including our new Loyalty Card Scheme
- Take any questions you might have on the topic

Packhorse Community Pub Awards Evening | 1700-1900hrs
The aim of this session, will be to celebrate all the wonderful people that make the Packhorse, and the surrounding community, so fantastic.
On the night our very own ‘Ant and Dec’ (Ben and Krow) will announce the winners (and nominees) of the following awards.
AWARDS
Packhorse Friend of the Year
For a regular who consistently supports the pub – turning up, promoting it, helping out, etc.
Community Morale Award
For someone who consistently just makes us laugh, always a smile on face, good humour, great stories.
Best Group/Club
For the group or club that regularly come to the pub and fill it with life and joy.
Rising Star/Newcomer Award
For someone new to the area (or new to the pub) who’s already made a positive impact, shown great enthusiasm etc.
Pub Dog Award
For the most characterful canine guest – who we love seeing at the pub.
Spirit of the Packhorse
For the person whose energy, humour, kindness or positivity most embodies the pub’s values.
Behind the Scenes Hero
To honour someone whose contributions are often unseen – gardening, maintenance, cleaning, admin, organising, etc.
Community Connector/Bridge Builder
For someone who fosters connections: organising events, bringing different groups together, encouraging inclusivity.
Creative Contributor Award
For someone whose artistic, musical, literary, crafting, or design work has added to the community (e.g. for pub events, décor, signage, flyers, performances).
Environment Award
Recognition for someone championing sustainability, wildlife, recycling or environmental projects in or around the village.
Youth/Junior Recognition Award
For a young person (child, teenager) who has shown care, engagement or leadership in the community.
Community Champion Award!!
For someone who’s gone above and beyond in service, volunteering, or helping others in the village or local area.
