We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to The Packhorse on Thursday 3rd December. Our delicious set price ‘Festive Menu’ will be available daily and can be viewed under the ‘Menus’ page. South Stoke and Bath are now in tier 2 of the new rules (November 26th, 2020), so we are able to take bookings for one household and any support bubble. Under the new rules, alcohol needs to be served with a substantial meal, so that gives you the perfect excuse to try out the new menu! Just a reminder that we cannot take a booking unless you are dining with us.

The friendly front of house staff will talk you through the Covid-19 safety rules on arrival. We are only offering table service and all of our staff are wearing face masks. As per current regulations, you will need to wear a face covering unless you are seated at the table. We also encourage you to sign in with the NHS app.

We cannot take any reservations for our garden area, however if there is space then we will be very happy to move you outside.

Please note that because we are a busy, thriving pub that freshly prepares and cooks all of our food, we cannot guarantee we will be able to hold onto booked tables for longer than 20 minutes. Please do let us know if you are running late.

We are a very dog friendly pub and welcome well behaved pooches of all sizes and shape. However, we do have limited tables that can host your four legged friend so please let us know at the time of booking. Dogs are not allowed in the dining area upstairs and must be kept on a lead in the pub and garden.

As there is very limited parking at the pub and in the village, visitors to the Packhorse are encouraged to park on Midford Road and enjoy a gentle stroll down South Stoke lane into the village. Please only use the car park for your specified booking time in order to be fair to all of our guests. If you do have to park in the village then please be respectful to the local residents and other road users. Blue badge holders need to let us know in advance so that we can reserve you a space. The ideal way to enjoy all that our pub has to offer is to come by taxi – Abbey Taxi and V Cars are local Bath companies.

Reviewed July 5th 2020 "Excellent experience on the first weekend of reopening. Lovely food and great service as always. If this is the new normal for now then we’ll certainly be back very soon".
