Wow, what a month! We absolutely loved our first Packhorse Christmas after re-opening earlier this year. It was wonderful seeing the pub so full of people enjoying the various events on offer in December.
Boxing Day weather stayed dry for us and we were able to fill the pub and garden to bursting point for The Mummers play and Folk music extravaganza. A highlight for several of our village folk was volunteering behind our outside bar and they did a fab job, so a big thanks from us.
Our first New Year’s Eve was a memorable night as our own village piper (Martin Davis) played Auld Lang Syne on his bagpipes, it was a very special moment so thank you Martin.
Other exciting news that came in just before Christmas was that our managing committee won The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Pub Saving Award. A massive well done and very well deserved. Our MD Dom Moorhouse had a live interview on Sky news and we featured in some national papers so more brilliant promotion for the pub.
Next Quiz night is this Wednesday 16th January so come along and join in the fun.
Looking ahead we have an exciting night planned for Burns night on January 25th. We will have a special Haggis meal available and also a whisky menu. Being Scottish is not compulsory, so please join us in the Tap room for food, drink and entertainment. Book tables via firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call.
Curry nights, quiz nights and live music will continue in the New Year so please keep an eye on social media for more information.
