“FIRST DRINK PULLED/POURED” RAISES AN AMAZING £755 FOR CHARITY

Congratulations to Ben Cundy and family on their winning bid of £755!

“FIRST DRINK PULLED / POURED” AUCTION FOR CHARITY

On Monday 17 May, the Packhorse Community Pub will open its C17th century doors for the first time this year.

As part of the “Roadmap” back to post Covid-19 normality, this will be another milestone moment in the eccentric history of this pub.

To celebrate this re-opening, and to raise some money for two tremendous causes, we are organising an auction for the “First Drink Pulled/Poured”.

The auction will close at 1200hrs on Monday 17 May – as the doors open.

Our two nominated charities (the auction money will be split between the two) are:

(1) Dorothy House Hospic– that provides such incredible end of life care; and

(2) The Mountain Way – that helps UK veterans suffering from PTSD.

The Dorothy House Hospice cause is particularly poignant for us all here at the moment – as this is where one of the Packhorse’s finest friends, Caroline Cundy, spent her last days in such incredible care – before passing away on Thursday 01 April after a long, brave fight against cancer. Caroline was a tireless presence in the Packhorse volunteer team – always so giving of her time to support so many aspects of the pub’s operation – room decoration, event planning, communications and so much more. She is so missed as a much loved member of the Packhorse team and wider community.
